The first ever Adidas city run happened in October last year in Shoreditch. The first of a series of 10k runs across the capital. Having not trained as much as I should have, and not ran once in three weeks I was pretty nervous about this one! The race started at 9am in Shoreditch park. When I arrived all I could see was a sea of blue t-shirts with 5,000 eager runners waiting to start. The event was well organised and the route was a scenic flat path running the streets of London.
My favourite part was when you turned the corner in Hoxton and had the skyline of the city in front of you with the sun beaming down across it. The medal…this is an impressive one to add to anyone’s collection! It’s large in size and represents a road sign…I mean, what more do you want! I finished 7 seconds off my PB coming in at 53 minutes 17 seconds. My two friends who also ran it both achieved their PB’s at 47 & 50 minutes. Anything is possible! I’d definitely recommend this event and will be signing up to another one in the 2018 series. Follow this link to sign up or get more information: www.adidascityruns.com
